Tucked away in the Nebraska Panhandle lies the beauty of Platte River Basin Environments. Our protected lands house many species of wildlife and wildflowers. The Basin provides outdoor lovers with opportunities for horseback riding, biking, hiking, astronomy viewing, photography, bird watching, hunting, and more. The riparian lands along the North Platte River, with the exception of Horse Creek, are open for public use activities. They are walk-in only with designated parking areas along public county roads. There are no developed or designated trails from the parking areas. Open fires are not allowed at any time of the year and no motorized vehicles are allowed beyond the parking area signage. They are subject to the same rules and regulations that are enforced by Nebraska Game and Parks WMA’s. All State and Federal seasonal hunting regulations also apply. The Horse Creek properties are designated as mentored access only due to poor access and liability issues. They are used for our youth, disabled veterans, and women in the outdoor activities.
The Wildcat Hills properties are open for public use activities. They are walk-in only with designated parking areas along public county roads.
