Diamond Bit

Managed by PRBE

Diamond Bit

The Diamond Bit is located 3 miles south of Mitchell, Nebraska along Mitchell South Rd. There is 155
acres of salt grass meadow with a developed mitigated seasonal wetland on the east side of the
property. A few pheasants nest and are frequently seen in the tall cover but the main attraction to the
property is a large colony of prairie dogs and burrowing owls. On occasion, there are coyotes and
different species of raptures including great horned owls, redtail hawks and an occasional bald eagle
seen in the prairie dog town trying to outsmart the rodents for an easy meal. There is a small parking
area located on the east side off Mitchell South Rd.
